TOMBEAU

A video by Maria Korporal & Astrid Astra Indricane in the Third Eye Factory

In an old cemetery, the graves become one with nature. Tombstones are covered by vegetation, names are hidden and become memories that only earth can read.
In the video a tombstone is freed from the leaves and reveals the inscription “Unsere Lieselotte” – our Lieselotte. A memory comes to light, the warmth of affection, the cry for a loss. Leaves grow and cover again, memories are buried but life goes on forever.

Presentation: May 10-11, 2024 (and ongoing): Bologna in Lettere 2024 – International Poetry & Video-Art, Bologna in Lettere.

Third Eye Factory was very shocked to discover that nowadays you can buy fishes in on-line stores! Whether the people use them to eat, or as ornamental fish in garden ponds: we think it is a great injustice and want the animals rather be swimming in the open water. That’s why we bought two nice carp fishes online, and freed them into the river in front of our home. We recorded this whole action on video.

The Logic of Logistics in the Ant’s World

Ants are great transport artists. They often carry objects that are many times larger and heavier than themselves. Food pieces are often carried by several ants together. “The Logic of Logistics in the Ant’s World” presents a look at this rational transportation system, and confronts it with the transport in the human world. The road signs are then absurd, and the supply of things that you do not need seems ridiculous: the ants are always purposeful and organized, and can not be seduced by useless brightly colored objects, which they put quickly and efficiently aside to clear the way to keep on the precious crumbs.
